The empty spaces make wholeness.
The emptiness in a pot makes it valuable; you can fill it with food or water.
Pay attention to what isn’t.
Listen for what your child does not say.
Observe what she does not do.
Similarly, know that your child uses your empty spaces.
What you do not say resounds.
What you do not do impresses.

oh my gosh, I've been following your blog for a few years and Poet suddenly looks so grown up!
Oh what lovely pictures of your two – Percy really does look like a Percy and that hat is just adorable! And thank you for sharing the Vimala McClure poem; it's both inspiring and slightly guilt inducing in a good way – definitely a useful reminder of how much we model to our children!
