Our friend Tim Coulson spent a few hours with us on Friday morning…at our favourite beach in bright, winter light.

I wanted to capture this moment in time as we’re on the cusp of becoming six. Regardless of the fact that we’re not all that prepared and that life just keeps on chugging on, I know how momentous these weeks are. The anticipation and excitement and nerves and wondering are all there.

In our own way, we’re all readying ourselves to welcome the newest member of our brood.

I’m incredibly grateful for these captures and for Tim’s ability to photograph us just as we are. The privilege of being a parent and growing new life is so easily lost in the relentless of the day to day but as I look at these photos I’m reminded – powerfully so.

The braxton hicks are increasing in intensity and length, the hospital bag is packed and I can feel a head edging further into my pelvis. I feel so much “deeper” into my pregnancy than I did last week…I’m very quickly venturing into that emotional fog that precedes birth; the in-between.

Beautiful photos! Such a special time! My third baby was born five weeks ago, and my older two are loving it. I must say I’m glad to be past those last few weeks of pregnancy for now…

Oh these photos are so gorgeous, I especially love the photo of you and the kids looking towards Percy down the path. You are so right about the privilege of having a family. I recently miscarried at 18 weeks and I know if I am blessed enough to get pregnant again, we will be saying thank you every single day, no matter how damn hard some of those days can be. All the best for the coming weeks! xx
