25/52

“A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2014.”

Poet: with remnants of babychino around her mouth and between her eyebrows (!) she shows me a leaf and in that split second I see so much of Daniel in her face.

Next week marks the half-way point – through this project and through the year. Are you motivated to get to 52/52?

I love the routine and knowing that I have to/will work both on insuring that I have some memories from every week (these kiddos change so much), but also that I will make sure to think about the types of images I take.

    That face is adorable!
Yes, I feel motivated to make it to the end! Yet, I know that come November-ish, I may feel quite differently considering our twins are set to arrive then. YAY.

Definitely still motivated. Just this week I was thinking how every week this is challenging me to think about the photos I take, the angles, the lighting, the setting. My kids are by far my favourite subjects to photograph, I love that I'm capturing all these memories and stages in their loves.
Love Poet's beautiful face in this photo!!! Gorgeous.

Lovely…always such a joy to me to see pieces of the people I love in my children! I love this p52 project, but I've just joined in and I'm hoping to keep it up at least for my summer. Love the inspiration each week!

So beautiful Poet. I am certainly motivated. We had a bit of an adventure this week, we chased the sunset just to get Caelan's 25/52 portrait, but along with that i snapped beautiful pictures of both my boys together (very rare) running through the paddock, cuddling and playing. If not for the project i wouldn't have these photos/memories, thank you for being so inspiring! x

I'm so motivated to keep going. I love having a reason to really think about the pictures I'm taking and to take stock of what I've captured each week. Plus knowing that I've got a folder filling up with real true blue 'keepers' allows me to cull through the photos that really aren't worth saving. You and your muse Poet are such an inspiration.

Lovely, Jodi. I love this project so much, and of course I intend to see it through to the end of the year. One thing that I just so appreciate is the inspiration to capture my kids as they really are, every day. You know what's funny? When I was a new mum, I swore up and down that my child would never have a sticky face or knotted hair or food-stained clothing. And hahaha, former me, you were sooooooooo silly. My kid always has a dirty face and so that's just how I capture her.

I have been amazed at how motivated I am to keep up with the 52 Project, and I really look forward to sharing the photos each week. I love that it challenges me to take better photos of the boys, and am definitely enjoying that little bit of 'me time' as I select, upload and caption the shots each week. Thanks Jodi for the inspiration x

Cute how babycino ends up between eyebrows, always the same with my little guy.

Beautiful big eyes Poet! My almost two year old often sports the 'cino' circle on her face too.
I love my Sunday evenings doing what hubby calls 'my photo a week thing' and am keen to see it through to week 52!
ps.I tried your onion trick in my little girl's room as she is unwell. I was sceptical but found it did help! x Dre

She is so beautiful! Those eyes!! I can't believe that it's almost halfway. I took pictures but didn't post last month, I finally caught up. I'm determined to make it to week 52.

I am very inspired by this project, and have no trouble seeing it through…
Can't wait until next year, to do it all over again. All tho I think I might do a mother/daughter portrait each week!
Just to mix it up. And I'm so bad at taking photographs of myself, so it will be fun for me, and for her to actually have some photos of me to look at as well when she's older.

So glad I joined. And loving discovering new beautiful blogs through here all the time.

    Steinsdotter xx

PS. Those eyes of her, so big and beautiful

I am so proud that I've made it this far and so YES I'm in it till the end. I may not always link up though, privacy concerns and thoughts around sharing my son on the worldwide web; but I will still be taking photos 🙂

Before I read your words my immediate thought was 'first time I have seen Poet's resemblance to Daniel!' so strong in this photo. Fascinates me how this changes with children. x

I am delighted I've made it this far, and am motivated more than ever to continue through the end! Though 26/52 will likely mark the first of the "A portrait of my sonS once a week, every week in 2014" !!! Littlest boy should be here any day now. SO excited to include him in this project <3. Thank you for motivating all of us–I'm so glad I decided to commit to this project!

I have in my hand a GF-1 which I have just taken out of my drawer and blown some dust off; some reading about it brought me here. Won't bore you with that though.

I always like these kinds of projects. I have done similar things in the past but often failed to maintain enthusiasm. So good on you for making it this far. I know you will finish.

I wondered about your composition decisions and how mindful you are of it. For most of the images, it works well in a natural way and is quite refreshing. I am something of a fan of using thirds in my portraits, but see you almost never do. Is there a "why"?
