48/52

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013.”
Che: the biggest daydreamer I know. Here he is on the way to the school’s Christmas concert (ISO 800, f1.6, 1/800th)
Poet: she has all-of-a-sudden embraced all things fairy and pretty. I’m kinda liking it (ISO 800, f1.6, 1/5000th)

Friends, after these portraits there’s only four to go. Can you believe it?
………………………………………………………………………………
There was an abundance of inspiring portraits this week; testament to the way you have all developed an eye for seeing and capturing an emotive, beautiful image. I chose the following because, quite simply, they are joyous.
This image is rather unforgettable – that window, her face, little pink shoes! / Katie captured Sophie and Henry in natural, candid moments; these photos are imbued with a sense of nostalgia / one of my favourite portraits of the year – Elsa dancing in the kitchen / colour, light and bubbles; summer is just around the corner for Poppy and Tully / and little Owynn; snuggled under a handmade quilt, his little legs in supta buddha konasana (I mentioned this yoga asana here – it’s a brilliant pose for rest).

You know what, I actually don't see their likeness quite as much as others do. I think perhaps it's because their personalities are so different. But yes, they both got the lips and for that I'm very grateful 😉 x

the headband is quite bat for lashes. splendid. i really must get round to taking my camera off the automatic setting. bit worried as i can barely get the kiddos to sit/stay still for long enough to press a single button let alone extended focus/exposure adjustments. perhaps 2014 will be the year? (in more ways than one, really need to read the camera's manual to find out how to go manual). x

dear Jodi…thank you thank you! do you know i sat and read your sweet praise of my 47/52 photo and i'm not embarassed to say i blushed. you are so kind.

Elsa never fails to inspire me but i have actually been feeling in a bit of a fug about my photos lately…my camera especially. and then you've gone and lifted my spirits again and got me inspired this week. i think i really could have captured 48/52 as a single shot. it was the first one i took and then of course the temptation was there just to hold down the button in burst mode on my wee point and press. i'd love the challenge of moving on to a dslr. perhaps in 2014 i will.

back to your portraits this week…so dreamy! i really love the colours in Poet's frame and yay for The Pretty! both your children have me hypnotised this week. beautiful beautiful babies!

so here's to the last 4 of the project! xXx

I've never seen them look so alike. I think as mothers, we often struggle to see them how others do because we know them so well. People tell me my two are very similar, but I don't see it at all. Their personalities are world's apart. Stunning portraits as usual.
