“A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2014.”

Poet: edging closer to three (and she has the attitude and tantrums to prove it).

Perhaps it’s because she’s the second child but this little one is growing up so quickly. The things she says! I am genuinely concerned about what’s to come…
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………
This week a free spirit with a flower crown caught my eye / I always love the way Tahnee captures her children, their quirks and characteristics / beautiful boy, his face lit by the sun / wow! what a beautifully composed portrait / chubby little hands in the garden – one of my favourite “unportraits” this year.

Jodi, thank you so much for selecting my project to mention in your post. BTW, my daughter is almost the same age with Poet and I can definitely relate to those attitudes and tantrums and the big words..

Poet has a real look of defiant independence I've not seen before in your 52 Portrait photos, growing up fast indeed – a lovely photo x

If it makes you feel any better at all Jodi, it seems most second borns I know are the shall we say…spirited ones! My second born who is four told me this morning with a big grin on his face "I can't wait to grow up and be sneaky and naughty it will be fun" Sneaky and naughty!! Help me! Loving your photos of Poet but I have to say I do miss seeing Che (of course totally understand your decision about that but just thought I'd mention he is missed!) xx

um, my firstborn daughter was such a spitfire, we decided to stop after her! ha ha ha ha! age two was easy peasy. three was an insane nightmare, so sorry for that preview! she would have 30 minute screaming fits on the floor. It'll all work out though, don't you fear. now we have a lovely 8 yr old and we've decided that we will indeed keep her 🙂 tee hee

Jodi, poppy waited till she was four before the tantrums started but your not alone. It seems all lite girls explore their individuality, strong passionate opinions and independance around this time while the mothers take to yoga, comforting pots of tea, yoga and the odd glass of wine. I trust each new day brings opportunities for teaching for them and it'll be wonderful having such beautiful strong women as daughters later on. Take heart. X

Is it weird of me, but I don't mind the tantrums. Maybe because Jarvis is my second and I know how quickly this phase goes.
